The history of the Prophet David must be told to the younger generation
David A.S., was the 12th descendant of Abraham. He became king after the death of King Thalut, at that time there was a pagan king named Jalut. In the Qur'an it says:
"Knowest thou not one of the children of Israel after (the death of) Moses, when they said unto their Prophet, Make up a king for us, that we may fight in the way of God? He replied: Could it not be, if you had to make war, you would not fight? They said: Why do we not fight in the way of Allah when we have been driven out of our village and from our children? But when it was compulsory for them to fight, they turned back, except for a few; and Allah is well aware of those who persecute ". (QS. Al-Baqarah, verse 246).
The children of Israel would not listen to the prophet's message, saying:
"How Thalut will be our king, he is inferior to us, while we have abundant wealth".
Then Thalut remained king, and after becoming king came out with his army to fight the wicked (Jalut). At that time Thalut said:
"We pass this river, but God will test your faith by forbidding this water to drink. Whoever drinks their water does not belong to believers. ”
Then what happened? they drank the river, because they were so thirsty. But believers who are obedient do not drink the water, except as a sip of thirst.
As Thalut crossed the river and was about to go to war, those who had little faith retreated from the battlefield, and their strong faith in God was not afraid to face any powerful enemy, though they were few. God's Word in the Qur'an:
"Many small groups can defeat many, with the consent of God and Allah, along with those who are patient." (Q.S. al-Baqarah, verse 249).
In this battle Jalut was killed by an army named David, then the army surrendered, and David was made king.
The prophet David, famous for his beautiful voice, was no match for him, this was the gift and grace of God bestowed upon him, and it was a miracle of prophecy. Because of the sound of his voice, if he read the book of Psalms with a beautiful song, then when the sick heard them heals, and the water and the wind became calm, the birds and the hills praised God.
In the same way iron can be soft and he can make all kinds of things that he wants with God's permission. Allah Almighty says in the Qur'an:
"We have given it to David, and We say:" O mountains, read it again and again with David, and the birds, and we cast iron before it, and weave it with iron, and do it. I see what you are doing ”(QS Saba, verses 10-11).
Whereas the scripture that God bestowed upon him, is the book of Psalms, as he says, in the Holy Qur'an:
"And verily Allah hath bestowed some of the Prophets above others, and We have given David the Psalm" (Q.S. al-Isra ', verse 55).
He died at the age of 100 for over 6 months, and was buried in Baitil Maqdis.
