Legal love between husband and wife during Ramadan fasting
Regarding things that break the fast, the scholars divide it into two types. The first is the cancellation of fasting which requires a person to pray (’: Read: Cancel of Fasting and Obligation of Qadha’). Secondly, it is the cancellation of fasting which requires a person to qadha 'also to carry out expiation. Qadha 'and expiation apply to those who engage in intercourse during the day while fasting Ramadan.
Actually intercourse for husband and wife is not prohibited during the night in the month of Ramadan. But if a husband and wife jimak (intercourse) during Ramadan fasting, then the fast becomes invalidated. Because fasting means restraining or controlling yourself. Who sharply refrain from eating, drinking and conjugal relations from dawn until sunset. So, if those things are violated, the fasting is canceled.
Infidelity literally means "penance" or "covering the shortcomings" by freeing a slave, or fasting for two consecutive months, or feeding sixty poor people each one mud or 600 grams of staple food. This provision is based on the historical hadith of Abu Hurairah ra, that a man came to meet the Prophet. then he said: "Woe to me, O Messenger of Allah" He asked: "Why is that?" The man replied: "I had intercourse with my wife on the afternoon of Ramadan"
He then asked: "Do you have something to free a slave?" He replied: "Don't have" He asked later: "Can you fast for two months in a row?" He replied: "Unable" and then he asked again: "Do you have something to feed sixty poor people?" He replied: "Don't have" Then, he sat waiting for a while. Then the Prophet gave him a basket of dates saying: "Give this"
The man asked: "Of course I have to offer it to the poorest among us, whereas in this area, there is no family who needs it most apart from us." So, the Messenger of Allah laughed until he saw one part of his teeth. Then he said: "Go home and feed your family.
